Lady Colonels Get Revenge in Sweep of Lady Maroons

After dropping a five-set decision earlier this season in Madisonville, the Christian County Lady Colonels got a measure of payback Tuesday evening. With strong attacking play at the net, the Lady Colonels rolled to a straight-set win over Madisonville-North Hopkins in Lyle Dunbar Gym.

The Lady Colonels got off to a strong start in the match, winning the opening set 25-15. The momentum carried over into the second set as Christian County repeated their success of the opening set with another 25-15 win in the second, taking a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Lady Maroons did not go quietly in the third, putting up a battle before falling 25-20 as Christian County completed the sweep.

Christian County got some strong efforts up front, especially from Skylar Kirby, Adreyona Smith, Emma Webster, and Carly Armstrong.

The Lady Maroons were led by Mackenzie Stoltz with 9 kills and 7 digs. Keira Williams added 4 kills, 2 aces, and 12 digs. Leah Moody ended up with 1 kill, 1 ace, and 8 digs.

Christian County (4-9) ends a four-match losing skid with the win and gets ready to take on Todd County Central Thursday night in Elkton.

Madisonville-North Hopkins (3-8) goes on the road to Henderson County Thursday night.
