Hopkins County Central senior Elizabeth Phaup isn’t the goalkeeper, but she came up with a big stop for the Lady Storm during Monday’s game against Muhlenberg County.
With the keeper out of the box, Phaup denied the Lady Mustangs what looked like a sure goal, and the Lady Storm went on to capture a 4-1 victory.
Phaup’s play earned her this Max’s Moment.

Nice save for the defender but that looks like a dangerous play on the goalkeeper which should have resulted in a red card on the striker! She wasn’t even making a play on the ball just trying to take out the goalkeeper. Which makes you wonder if their goalkeeper is a good one that the team wanted to take out. Refs need to start making calls when it comes to dangerous plays on goalkeepers!
