Tuesday night, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons traveled to the southern end of the 2nd Region highway and battled the ‘southern Lady Colonels.’ Thursday night, the Lady Maroons went to the northern end of that same highway and faced the ‘northern Lady Colonels.’ The bad news for the Lady Maroons was that the result turned out to be the same.
Henderson County continued to position itself as one of the contenders for the 2nd Region volleyball championship with a straight-set win over the Lady Maroons Thursday night in Henderson.
The Lady Colonels came out strong, taking the first set 25-13. Henderson took a 2-0 lead in the match by winning the second set 25-17.
Henderson County then closed out the night with a 25-15 win in the third set to complete the sweep.
Madisonville-North Hopkins was led by Mackenzie Stoltz with 7 kills. Leah Moody added four more.
Keira Williams had 10 assists and 7 digs for the Lady Maroons. Avery Rudd led Madisonville in service aces with three.
Madisonville-North Hopkins gets back to action on the road Monday facing another opponent from the 6th District as the Lady Maroons head to Dixon to take on the Webster County Lady Trojans.
