Rebels Splash Their Way Past Stewart County

Rain or not, the Todd County Central Rebels had a big second half Thursday night. The Rebels broke open a close game at the half by scoring 36 points in the second half on the way to a 42-10 road win at Stewart County.

With rain falling, the first half saw both teams struggle to get points on the board.

Todd County Central struck first when Braylon Elderbrook connected with B.J. Farlow for a 21-yard touchdown pass to put the Rebels up 6-0 with 7:50 to go in the first quarter.

Later in the quarter, Stewart County got on the board with a 31-yard field goal from Matteo Saliou to make it 6-3 with 3:13 left in the opening quarter.

That would be the score as the two teams went into the break. And then the fireworks started.

Braylon Elderbrook ran it in from 10 yards out with 8:33 to go in the third. Mar’Shawn Fletcher scored the 2-point conversion as the Rebel lead grew to 14-3.

Elderbrook threw his second touchdown pass of the night with 1:32 to go in the third, this one 12 yards to Aiden Bobbett as the Rebels made it a 20-3 game.

Mar’Shawn Fletcher scored on the final quarter’s first play, and Elderbrook ran for the two-point conversion as the Rebels blew the lead out to 28-3. Not long after, Fletcher took it in from 16 yards out, and with another two-point conversion, the Todd County Central lead was 36-3 with 9:39 to go in the game.

Stewart County cut into the lead as Anthony Bisogno threw a 32-yard pass to Luke Harmon to make it 36-10.

Mar’Shawn Fletcher scored his third touchdown of the night with 4:01 left to close out the scoring for the night.

With the win, the Rebels improve to 2-2 on the season. They will be back home next Saturday evening when they take on the McLean County Cougars.
