
The Madisonville-North Hopkins girls’ soccer team pushed the 11-1-2 Bowling Green Purples to the brink on Tuesday but fell just short in a 3-2 defeat. Bowling Green remains undefeated in its last eight matches with its fifth straight in the series with the Lady Maroons.
Madison Hill netted her 35th goal for Madisonville, and Kailey Barber also found the back of the net. McKinley Wilson provided her 11th assist of the season.
The Purples held a 16-9 advantage in shots on goal and attempted five corner kicks to Madisonville’s one.
Kaytee Parish made nine saves as the Lady Maroons slipped to 9-4-1. They will be back on the field on Saturday for a visit from Evansville Christian.
