Russellville Extends Lyons’ Skid with 9-1 Win

It turned out to be a tough road trip to Russellville Tuesday night for the Lyon County Lyons. The Lyons dropped their 4th straight match as the Panthers scored three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half to close out a 9-1 win on their home field.

The game ended shortly after the 60 minute mark due to the 8-goal rule.

The Panthers took control of the match early on and built a 6-1 lead at the half as they ended a three-match losing streak of their own.

Samuel Cruz, Riley Hatfield, and Charles Graves scored two goals each to lead the Russellville attack.

Joao Colares de Menezes, a newcomer to the Lyon County team scored the lone goal with an assist from Mauro Furones. Lyon County senior Caden Weber made his return to keeper and had 17 saves on the night.

Lyon County (1-10-0) is scheduled to be back on the pitch Friday night when the Lyons host Muhlenberg County for Senior Night.
