The Henderson County Colonels picked up a big 2nd Region win Thursday night. The Colonels got three goals and two assists from Jax Benton as they took a 7-0 home field win over the University Heights Academy Blazers.
The win was the 10th of the season for Henderson County.
The Blazers trailed just 2-0 at the half, but saw the Colonel offense get revved up and put up five goals in the second 40 minutes.
Henderson had a second half blitz that opened up the margin. A Henderson goal with 29:36 left in the second half was the first of four in four minutes, including 2 just 23 seconds apart. Henderson County’s last goal came with just under 18 minutes left.
For UHA, Eli Finch allowed 2 goals and made 5 saves in the first half. Hayden Fitzsimmons allowed 5 goals and made 7 saves in the 2nd half.
University Heights Academy (11-6) returns to the field Monday when the Blazers go on the road to take on Marshall County.
