
The UHA Lady Blazers will now focus their attention on a huge 8th District semifinal match Tuesday night after closing out the regular season Saturday. The Lady Blazers finished out with matches against Apollo and Meade County at Apollo High School.
UHA opened the day against the Lady Wave from Meade County. In the matchup between the defending 2nd Region champs and the defending 3rd Region champs, it was Meade County that had the better of the day.
Meade County took the opening set 25-18 to go up one set to none.
UHA pushed the Lady Wave in the second, but it was still Meade County getting the win 25-20 to take a two set to none lead.

Meade County then closed out the sweep getting off to a quick start and then taking a 25-15 win.
Olivia Oakley led UHA with 8 kills and 18 digs. Taylor Cantrell added 7 more. Gretchen Durham finished with 22 assists.
The Lady Blazers then finished out the regular season with a match against the homestanding E-Gals, who gave indication of why they are the top RPI-ranked team in the 3rd Region.
Apollo won the opening set 16-25 and then kept rolling in the second, taking a 14-25 win to go up two sets to none. The E-Gals finished out the match by winning the third set 25-18 to take the match three sets to none.

Olivia Oakley had 9 kills and 10 digs. Her dig total for the day leaves her needing 9 more to reach 1,000 for her career.
Gretchen Durham had another big match with 15 assists.
UHA finishes the regular season at 8-21. The Lady Blazers will open the 8th District tournament Tuesday evening when they take on Heritage Christian in the semifinal round. The two teams split their regular season contests.
