Callie Chapman has been a big part of the success over recent years for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels’ volleyball team. And, while she is quite adept on the volleyball court and a standout athletically, there is much more to this young lady than what you get to see on match nights. It is the combination of those things and more, that places her as the latest Chick-fil-A “Triple A.”
Let’s start with her career on the volleyball court for the Lady Rebels. This season, as one of three seniors on the team, Callie played in all 35 matches and all 91 sets for Todd County Central. She led the team in blocks with 50. Callie had 109 kills, 23 digs, 16 aces, and 4 assists, as she helped lead the Lady Rebels back to another berth in the 4th Region tournament.
For her athletic efforts, Callie was named to the 4th Region Volleyball All-Tournament Team.
But, not only does she excel on the court, her talents extend into many other areas of her life as well.
Callista, known to most as Callie, is off to a great academic start for her senior year. It was recently announced that Callie was on the Principal’s List for the first nine weeks of the 2024-25 school year. And this level of classroom performance has been going on for a while for this outstanding young lady.
Callie has excelled in the classroom throughout her time at Todd County Central and is a member of the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is an organization for high schoolers that promotes leadership, service, character, and scholarship. High school students in grades 9-12 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply for membership into the National Honor Society. To be admitted, students must show academic commitment, leadership experience, and good character.
She is also involved in the Todd County Central chapter of the Beta Club and has been very active in her service with the club. Beta is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, which for more than 80 years, has prepared today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. Beta’s goal is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
Callie is also a member of the Todd County High School chapter of the Future Farmers of America and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
During her time with the FFA, she has been very involved in the greenhouse at Todd County Central High School. Students in the Greenhouse and Floral Design class have the privilege to help plant and prepare the items to be sold in the greenhouse. Callie also had the opportunity to be a part of this year’s Growing Leaders Committee and the Horse Judging team for FFA.
Recently, she joined the staff at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Early Learning Center in Christian County. During their Fall Festival, Callie volunteered, serving families with her positive attitude, and infectious smile, which you will see most every time you encounter her, on the court or off.
Callie is extensively involved with her youth group at a Todd County church. She attended a mission trip to Big Creek Missions, in Eastern Kentucky, and while there Callie helped feed, and minister to young underprivileged children. Her faith is a big part of who she is, Callie says she enjoys the opportunity to participate in youth groups.
As for her future, Callie plans to attend Austin Peay State University in the fall of 2025 and pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
She adds, “I am thankful for all of the opportunities I’ve had throughout my high school career. There have been so many teachers that have impacted my life over the past four years.”
Something you are quickly able to discern when you meet this young lady is that she is not only a standout in athletic competition, but that she is also an exceptional young lady, who has a great future in front of her.
All of those add up to why Callie is another great example of a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’
