Caldwell County grad Jabrion Spikes poured in 25 points Friday night as the Georgetown Tigers improved to 8-0 on the season.
Spikes’ effort helped Georgetown overcome an early 13-point deficit while posting an 83-74 victory over Florida College in the Centennial Bank Classic at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee.
Florida College opened the game with a 16-3 margin, but a jumper from Spikes started a 17-0 run for Georgetown.
The Tigers led just 39-37 at halftime, but quickly extended the lead to double digits after the break.
Georgetown led by as much as 18 points in the second half.
Spikes was 11 of 16 from the floor in 36 minutes of action.
He also had three rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Spikes, a junior, is now averaging 14.4 points a game this season, which is second on the team.
The fifth-ranked Georgetown Tigers play again on Saturday afternoon in the Centennial Bank Classic against Fisk University.
