Hoptown Girls Take Second at Midweek Event

Hopkinsville’s girls’ swim team finished in second place at a three-team swim meet with Christian County and Bowling Green on Thursday at the Rick Cohn Aquatic Center.

Grace Cansler picked up a pair of wins in her events. She won the 50-yard free in 28.61 and took first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:19.29.

Saralynn Major was second in the 100-yard free in 1:07.45 and second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:38.10, knocking 7.38 seconds off her previous best time.

Kaley Bangart was second in the 200-yard free in 2:35.61 and second in the 500-yard free in 6:56.57.

Kaydon Coats was third in the 200-yard free in 2:44.88 and fourth in the 100-yard free in 1:14.12

Evelyn Bangart was fourth in the 500-yard free in 7:33.57 and fifth in the 50-yard free in 33.58

The 200-yard medley relay team of Kaley Bangart, Grace Cansler, Saralynn Major, and Kaydon Coats took second in 2:25.50.

The 200-yard free relay team of Evelyn Bangart, Grace Cansler, Kaley Bangart, and Saralynn Major was second in 2:14.42.

For the guys, Lance Zigelhofer was sixth in the 100-yard free in 1:28.36.
