After an opening-night win over Christian Fellowship, the Dawson Springs boys’ basketball team has now lost two straight after a 51-45 defeat on the road at Mayfield on Tuesday.
After a slow start, the Panthers rebounded with 20 points in the second quarter but couldn’t find the range in the second half. After six points in the third, they could only muster 10 in the fourth to allow the Cardinals to hold on for a narrow victory.
Rex Blue led the way for Dawson Springs with 13 points, followed by Montgomery Johnston with 12.
The Panthers will look to get back on track on Saturday when they travel to Henderson County. The Colonels have won all six previous matchups in the series.
