After a couple of tough losses to open the season, the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm are now rolling. The Lady Storm won their fifth straight game Thursday with a 59-58 victory over Liberty Creek in the Yellow Bracket of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic in Gatlinburg.
Calajia Mason led three players in double figures for the Lady Storm with 15 points. Addie Menser had 15 and Tyah White finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Free throws were a big part of the win for Hopkins County Central as the Lady Storm hit 18 of 23 from the line for 78.3 percent.
With the win, Hopkins County Central improves to 5-2 on the season after opening with losses to E-town and Breckinridge County.
Up next for the Lady Storm is a Friday game against Lexington Lafayette. The Generals bear Summerville (SC) in overtime Thursday.
