The Hopkins County Central Lady Storm saw their five game losing streak come to an end Friday afternoon down in the mountains. The Lady Storm struggled to put points on the board as they dropped a 48-38 decision to Lexington Lafayette in the championship bracket semifinals of the Girls Yellow Bracket at the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic in Gatlinburg.
The 38 points marked the lowest scoring total of the season for the Lady Storm, who had not lost since a 51-41 loss to Breckinridge County in the Independence Bank Tipoff Classic on December 7.
The Lady Storm will wrap up their trip to the mountains Saturday when they take on Jackson County in the consolation game of the championship half of the Yellow Bracket.
Jackson County lost 68-47 in their semifinal game against Lord Botetourt, out of Virginia, and enters the game at 5-3.
With the loss to Lafayette, the Lady Storm is now 5-3 for the season.
