Now that is how you rebound from a tough loss. Two days after falling on the road at Christian County, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels got a huge game from senior Alexis Taylor and came back with a 58-21 win over Power Center Academy of Memphis in The Hardwood Classic.
The Lady Rebel defense was the story of the day. Todd County Central allowed Power Center Academy just 11 total points over the final three quarters, with no more than 4 scored in any one.
Behind a big first quarter from JaMya Kay, the Lady Rebels ran out to a 22-10 first quarter lead.
Alexis Taylor then got revved up in the second quarter and the Lady Rebels effectively put the game away. Todd County Central went into the break with a comfortable 42-14 lead.
Taylor kept rolling in the third quarter scoring 8 of the Lady Rebels’ 12 points as Todd County Central moved on out to a 54-17 lead.
Lady Rebel reserves saw significant action over the final 8 minutes as Todd County Central closed out the win.
Alexis Taylor led the way for Todd County Central and outscored Power Center Academy on her own with 27 points. JaMya Kay added 16 points and Daymea Garrett finished with 7.
Todd County Central (5-4) will head to Edmonson County Thursday to take on Marshall County in their first game in the Caveland Classic.
