
The Muhlenberg County Mustangs took an early lead in their game Saturday against the Todd County Central Rebels and did not let up off the gas. The Mustangs rolled to a 61-33 win over the Rebels’ in Todd County Central’s second game of the day in the United Southern Bank Battle at the Border.
The Mustang defense limited the Rebels to just three first quarter points as Muhlenberg County took a 9-3 lead.
Jayden Glass and Brett Harris gave the Rebels some much-needed offense in the second quarter. Still the Mustangs extended the lead to 25-15 at the break.
Muhlenberg County came out in the third quarter and held the Rebels to just three field goals as the Mustangs pulled away to a 39-21 lead.
Nine different Mustangs scored in the final quarter as Muhlenberg County ran on out to the final 29 point margin.
The Rebels got 14 points from Jayden Glass. Devin Schutt added 9 while Brett Harris finished with 5.
For Muhlenberg County, Kason Morris had 16 points. Jace Sommers had 14 and Gunnar Revelett added 13.
Todd County Central (1-8) will get back to action Friday on the road at Whitley County in the BSN Borderline Classic.
