The Dawson Springs Panthers wrapped up their trip to Northern Kentucky with their second win in three days. The Panthers got the usual big games from their guard combo of Rex Blue and Montgomery Johnston as the Panthers knocked off Ludlow 76-57 in the Swauger Holiday Classic at Bellevue High School.
The Panthers took the early lead in the game, leading 15-9 after the opening quarter. The margin grew to 32-25 at the break.
Dawson Springs came out after the half and the offense running in full gear. The Panthers extended the lead to 52-41 after three.
The Panthers were never threatened after that point, pulling on out to the 19-point win.
Dawson Springs got 30 points from Montgomery Johnston, who was named to the All-Tournament team. Rex Blue finished with 20 points. Deacon Dever also hit double figures with 10.
For Ludlow, Spencer Brandenburg and Byron Conley had 14 points each.
Dawson Springs heads into the New Year with a record of 6-5. The Panthers are back on the court January 3 when they go to Princeton for a 7th District game against Caldwell County.
