
East Coweta used a 19-3 run in the first half to take control against East St. Louis and went on to pick up a 53-38 victory on Saturday at the 2024 West Kentucky Hoops Classic at Caldwell County.
The Indians of East Coweta (Georgia) led 12-2 after one quarter and 24-15 at halftime.
The Flyers of East St. Louis (Illinois) made things interesting late with a 10-1 run, but East Coweta pushed the final margin back out to 15 points.
Harper Rife had 13 points for East Coweta while Qwez Williams had 12 points and 18 rebounds. Marcus Towns added 11 points for the Indians, who went 1-1 in the Hoops Classic.
Alex Johnson tallied 18 points for East St. Louis, which went 0-2, including an overtime loss on Friday.
