A day after Christian County picked up its first win of the season, the Colonels ran into a hot home team in its bid to win for a second straight day. Lexington Christian shot better than 55 percent from the field and better than 47 percent from behind the 3-point line as the Eagles took a 78-59 win in the consolation bracket championship game of the Central Bank Jim Rose Classic.
LCA came out and took a 19-11 lead after the first quarter and then extended that lead to 40-25 at the half.
The Eagles shot better than 54 percent from the field in the half and 50 percent from behind the arc.
Lexington Christian continued the hot shooting as the second half started and pushed the lead out to 56-34 heading into the final eight minutes of the game.
The Christian County offense got cranked up in the fourth but could not make a big charge at the Eagles, who went on to take the 19-point win.
Christian County got a big day from NaDarien Rowe with 25 points. Rahsean Stevenson finished with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Aiden Jesse came off the bench to score 8 points.
LCA was paced by Saxton Howard with 24 points. Caleb Marshall came off the bench for the Eagles to add 21 points.
Christian County falls to 1-12 with the loss. The Colonels start 2025 at home Friday night against the Russellville Panthers.
