One field goal in the first and fourth quarters combined will not win you many ballgames. That is what happened to the Todd County Central Rebels Sunday as they closed out their appearance in the BSN Borderline Classic.
The Rebels had one field goal in the first and were shutout in the fourth as Jeffersontown rolled to a 73-23 win.
The Chargers settled this one early, taking a 20-2 lead after the opening quarter. J-town pushed the lead out to 38-10 at the half.
The Rebels had their best quarter in the third, putting 13 points on the board, but Jefferstown was still able to extend the lead out to 57-23 by quarter’s end.
The Chargers got the margin to running clock status early in the final quarter and the game finished out quickly from there.
John Ross Cardwell led the Rebels with a 13-point day. Devin Schutt added 3 points for Todd County Central.
Jeffersontown got 15 points from Joseph Jones. Breyonne Faulkner contributed 12 points and Damere Clark added 10.
The loss, which was the Rebels’ 5th straight, drops Todd County Central to 1-11 on the season. The Rebels will be back in action Friday on the road at Jo Byrns.
