Lady Rebels Run Past Jo Byrns for 3rd Straight Win

The Todd County Central Lady Rebels started off 2025 by winning their 3rd straight game. The Lady Rebels overcame some sluggish offense as their defense stifled the Jo Byrns Lady Red Devils’ offense Friday night on the way to a 48-26 road win.

Todd County Central took a 9-6 lead after the first quarter and then took control of the game in the second. The Lady Rebels limited Jo Byrns to just a single free throw in the second quarter as they ran the lead out to 22-7 at the break. The story in the second quarter was the Todd County Central 2-2-1 press, which caused the Lady Red Devils extensive problems.

Alexis Taylor and Jordyn Shemwell combined to score 18 of the Lady Rebels’ 22 points in the first half.

Todd County Central kept pulling away in the third quarter, extending the margin to 38-17 heading into the fourth quarter.

The two teams played fairly even over the final eight minutes as the Lady Rebels secured the 22-point win.

Alexis Taylor had a big night for Todd County Central with 19 points. Jordyn Shemwell added 9 points. JaMya Kay ended the game with 7 points. Kathryn Ballard and Daymea Garrett scored 4 points each.

Faith Holt was the only player for Jo Byrns to reach double digits with 10. Pinky Shannon chipped in 5 points.

Todd County Central improves to 8-5 with the win. They are set to play the winner of Monroe County and Russellville Wednesday night in the semifinals of the 4th Region All A Classic at Todd County Central.
