Swimmers from Hopkins County Central took second place in both boys’ and girls’ competition Thursday evening. Central, along with Butler County, competed in a three-team meet hosted by Ohio County.
The Storm swimmers scored 25 points boys’ events. Ohio County took first place, while Butler County was third.
In the girls events, Hopkins County Central scored 34 points. Again, Ohio County was first and Butler County finished 3rd.
There were several outstanding performances for Hopkins County Central on the evening.
Izzy Gunn took 1st place in the 50 free and the 100 free. Emma Frazier was second in the 100 free and Resse Richey was third. Frazier picked up a first place finish of her own in the 100 backstroke.
Another solid effort for Alex Ray, who finished first in the 100 butterfly and in the 100 backstroke.
Jaxon Ratliff claimed a 2nd place finish in the 50 free.
Up next for Hopkins County Central swimmers is the regional swim meet, which is set for Saturday, January 25 at Hopkinsville High School.
