Lady Cougars Claw Past Dawson Springs

A road trip to Calhoun did not work out very well Tuesday night for the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers. Dawson Springs was held to just one field goal over the first three quarters as the Lady Cougars cruised to a 60-12 win over the Lady Panthers.

Dawson Springs was limited to just a Baylee Swatzell field goal in the first quarter as McLean County jumped out to an 18-2 lead.

The offensive struggles continued in the second quarter for the Lady Panthers as McLean County held them to just two free throws from Briley Sawyer as the lead grew to 36-4.

McLean County then held the Lady Panthers scoreless in the third quarter as the Lady Cougars pushed the lead out to 58-4 going into the final quarter.

Lady Cougar reserves saw action in the fourth quarter as the game played out to the 48-point win for McLean County.

Freshman Katie Blanchard hit a pair of threes and led Dawson Springs with 6 points. Baylee Swatzell finished with 4 while Briley Sawyer added 2 points.

Kenadi Level led McLean County with 16 points. Karlee Floyd added 13 points and Katie McCoy finished with 12.

The loss drops Dawson Springs to 4-8 for the season. The Lady Panthers are back in action Thursday night on the road at Webster County.
