
Visiting Community Christian won its fourth straight with a 68-45 victory over Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday in Hopkinsville.
On his Senior Night, Jason Leek had yet another big-time performance for the Warriors, finishing with 30 points and 16 rebounds.
HCA trailed just 15-12 after the opening quarter. The Warriors then battled back to take a 27-25 lead into the break.
Community Christian got back to the lead in the third quarter but as the game rolled into the fourth, it was still any one’s for the taking as CCA held just a 41-38 lead.
A 13-2 run to open the final quarter turned out to be the difference as CCA went on to take the win.
The programs had split the previous two meetings. Community Christian improved to 6-11 ahead of a Friday trip to face Dawson Springs.
HCA dropped its second straight to slip to 4-13. The Warriors will be on the road on Thursday to meet Clarksville Christian after beating the Centurions 52-50 back on December 10.
HCA’s Jason Leek had 43 in that contest and currently leads the state in scoring with 34.5 points per game.
