
The Lyon County Lady Lyons improved to 5-0 in district play, putting the brakes on a three-game skid on Tuesday with a 56-40 victory at Livingston Central.
The Lady Lyons completed a regular-season sweep of the Lady Cardinals to improve to 16-5 ahead of a trip to Crittenden County on Friday. Lyon County took the first meeting this season before the Lady Rockets earned some revenge with a win in the All-A Region championship.
Piper Cotham knocked down a pair of three-pointers on the way to 12 first-quarter points, and Courtney Collins added seven to send the Lady Lyons to an early 21-10 advantage. Collins added eight more in the second to finish with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Cotham wrapped up a game-high 27 points with 12 in the third to push the margin to 22 points with a quarter to play.
Trinity Taylor collected 12 boards for the Lady Lyons, and Jenna Coursey pulled down nine.
Brooklyn Collins connected on four threes to lead Livingston Central with 16 points. The Lady Cardinals slipped to 6-11 and remained winless against district competition ahead of a matchup at Caldwell County on Thursday.
