
A special night at Dawson Springs High School Friday night as the members of the 2025 Hall of Fame class were inducted. The ceremonies took place between games of the doublehead between Dawson Springs and Hopkins County Central.
The members inducted were:
The 1955 boys basketball team – the team was the second most decorated in school history.
Steve Akin – a five year varsity basketball player. Was the 2nd Region’s leading scorer in 1967 and voted 1st Team All Region. Played basketball at Oakland City before transferring to Murray State.
Bill Seibert – 1960 grad and played on what is arguably the best basketball team in school history. Was injured going into the 1959 regional tournament. Played minor league baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Charles Nichols – 1952 grad and led the Panther basketball team in scoring. His high game of 46 points stood for a long time as the school record. Represented Western Kentucky in the 1952 All-Star game. Former Mayor of Dawson Springs.
Sherri Nichols – Played varsity basketball from 1975-1977. A member of the first girls team at Dawson Springs. Led the team in rebounding, free throws, and assists. Named a Kentucky High School All-American in 1977. Played college basketball at Murray State.
Brooke Randolph – 2010 graduate. Led the Lady Panther softball team to a district championship and two All A regional titles. In the circle, had a record of 51-29 with more than 500 strikeouts and 22 shutouts.
