In by far their worst offensive performance of the season, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels were overwhelmed 52-14 at 13th-District rivals Franklin-Simpson on Friday.

The Lady Rebels saw a three-game winning streak come to an end to slip to 1-2 in district play, while Franklin-Simpson won its third in a row to stay undefeated against district competition and improve to a region-best mark of 17-2.

LaReesha Cawthorn posted eight points in the first quarter, and the Lady Wildcat defense held the Lady Rebels to a single basket to build an early 14-3 advantage.

Franklin-Simpson’s Vanessa Ray carried the scoring load in the second frame with eight points, and the Lady Wildcats cruised into halftime with a decisive 31-6 cushion.

Ray led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points, followed by Cawthorn with 10.

No Lady Rebels reached double figures as they dropped to 12-9 ahead of a trip to Calloway County on Tuesday.
