
A member of the swim team at Madisonville-North Hopkins is getting the chance to continue both her athletic and educational career on the collegiate level. Adison Melton has officially signed her letter of intent to swim for Campbellsville University next year.
Melton has been swimming competitively since she was 4 and has been on the high school team for 6 years, earning a place in the state swim meet for the last 5 years. Her junior year, she was region champion in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.
She was also a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay that made it to state finals at the University of Kentucky.
Melton will compete at the first round of state Saturday at Bowling Green High School in the 200 freestyle as an individual. She will also compete in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay.
She plans to major in nursing at Campbellsville University.
