Kentucky is 19-2 going into tonight’s game at Ole Miss. That ties three previous seasons for the best 21-game start in school history.
The Cats are 8-1 in the Southeastern Conference, 5-2 in road games, 4-1 against Associated Press Top 25 opponents and 2-0 against teams receiving votes in 2024-25. The Wildcats have defeated all six of those ranked or receiving vote opponents by at least nine points.
Kentucky is coming off a pair of back-to-back triumphs over ranked foes — No. 22/22 Alabama, 65-56, on Jan. 30 at home and No. 13/12 Oklahoma 95-86, on Feb. 2 on the road.
It marked the first time UK has defeated consecutive games against AP ranked opponents during the regular season since 2020-21.
At Oklahoma, All-American graduate guard Georgia Amoore had a school-record-tying 43 points, knocking down seven3 -point field goals and adding eight assists. She was named the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Player of the Week, Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week and Southeastern Conference Player of the Week.
Amoore was also named to a Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Top 10 Finalist and to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Midseason Watch List,.
Sophomore center Clara Strack was named a Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Top 10 Finalist.
Kentucky is fourth in the conference with a two-game lead over Alabama in fifth. The Wildcats still have an opportunity to move up in the league standings, with the top three teams left on the schedule — South Carolina (10-0), LSU (9-1) and Texas (9-1).
The LSU and the Texas games will be played at home in Historic Memorial Coliseum, and the UK-LSU contest on Feb. 23 is sold out.
Five Cats are averaging double-digit scoring — Amoore (19.4), Strack (15.5), Dazia Lawrence (13.2), Teonni Key (11.4) and Amelia Hassett (10.4). Strack is leading the team and ranked third in the league with 9.6 rebounds per game.
Amoore, Lawrence and Hassett have all knocked down at least 46 3-point field goals this season, currently just one of two trios in the nation to produce those numbers. Lawrence is leading the conference with a 45.3 percentage from long range.
Kentucky has produced three games this season with at least 14 3-pointers for the first time in program history. Kentucky has only ever produced as many or more 3-pointers in a game three times total in program history.
The Wildcats are also efficient on defense, holding 15 of their 21 opponents to under 40 percent shooting from the field this season, including seven of their nine league opponents.

Do they ever play at home? seems like there on the road a lot
They got three in a row coming up. come out and see them play
This year is the best I’ve ever seen the women’s basketball team. If they win this game and go to 9-1 I don’t ever remember us being 9-1 in the SEC. So that has to tie a record or be a record. Brooks if he continues to win win win should get coach of the year and will recruit even better than he already does. I just hope Silva doesn’t transfer out at years end. Because Strack is just a sophomore. So she would be playing behind her for the next couple of years. We will literally have everyone back except Lawrence and Amoore. He needs to hit a home run in the transfer portal on a point guard and I think Obi will decide to redshirt instead of playing maybe 5-10 games. So she will also be back next year. I would like to see Strack and Silva as twin tower next year. But I think Silva starts to really get better next year. She needs a year of American Basketball because is.much faster than europe. Imagine this Strack as a senior and Silva as junior 6-7 and 6-6 then have a wing and 2 very fast guards they would be unstoppable.and grab just about every rebound.
