
The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons have now won the most games in a season for the program in the past dozen years. The Lady Falcons led wire to wire in taking a 56-11 win over the Lady Warriors.
The win was the 5th of the season for Fort Campbell giving the Lady Falcons their most wins since the 2012-2013 season, when the team went 9-16.
The Lady Falcons took quick control of the game, scoring the first nine points out of the gate to take the early 9-0 lead. The Lady Warriors had issues from the start dealing with Fort Campbell’s Rosella Rajj on the inside from the beginning. Rajj finished the first quarter with 6 points and 5 rebounds as the Lady Falcons took a 21-4 lead.
Ava DeJager scored all four points for Heritage Christian during the first eight minutes.
With the big lead, Fort Campbell reserves saw extensive action in the second quarter. By halftime, all sixteen players in the scorebook had seen action for Fort Campbell.
The Lady Falcons headed off to the locker room at the half holding a 37-5 lead. The only for HCA in the quarter was an Ava DeJager free throw.
Rosella Rajj ended the half with 10 points and 5 rebounds. The Lady Falcons got a spark from 7th grader Kyra Benson, who was 2 of 4 from behind the arc.
Fort Campbell got a boost from A’mari Grimsley to open the second half as they extended the lead out to 43-7 and brought the running clock into play with 3:50 to go in the third.
The quarter ended with the Lady Falcons up 51-7.
The first player other than Ava DeJager to score for the Lady Warriors got on the board when Lexi Lyon came up with a steal and layup with 6:30 to go in the game to make it 51-9.
With the clock running the final quarter rolled quickly by as the Lady Falcons took the 45-point win.
Fort Campbell was led by Rosella Rajj, who finished with 15 points and 7 rebounds. A’mari Grimsley also had 15 points. Kyndal Bradley just missed double digits with 9 points.
Ava DeJager scored 9 points for the Lady Warriors. Lexi Lyon had the other two points for HCA.
Fort Campbell (5-11) is back in action Thursday night when the Lady Falcons host Community Christian for Senior Night.
Heritage Christian (0-15) goes on the road Tuesday to take on Whitesville Trinity.
