After a tough loss to Madisonville on the last day of January, the Henderson County Colonels appear to be back on track. Henderson won its fifth straight game Monday night, picking up a big 66-37 home court win over the Hopkins County Central Storm.

The game marked the 6th time this year that the Colonels have held an opponent to under 40 points in a game.

Led by the strong defensive effort, Henderson County got up early in this one, taking a 19-7 lead after the opening quarter. That lead grew to 34-16 at the half.

The Colonels kept the pressure on as the second half got started and extended the lead to 48-25 after three.

Henderson had three players reach double figures in the game led by Elijah Suggs with 12 points. Xavion Johnson and Lacon McKinney added 10 points each.

The loss drops the Storm to 10-14 on the season. Hopkins County Central is back in action Thursday when the Storm travels to Hopkinsville.
