
A strong third quarter at Paducah St. Mary on Friday helped Lyon County’s girls finish the regular season with 20 wins.
The Lady Lyons used a balanced offensive attack to knock off the Lady Vikings 54-44.
Lyon will carry a 20-8 record into 5th District tournament action against Livingston Central Monday night in Cadiz.
St. Mary (15-9) led 15-14 after one quarter on Friday before Lyon edged ahead 30-26 at halftime.
The Lady Lyons then held the Lady Vikings to just one field goal in the third quarter while opening up a 42-31 advantage.
Trinity Taylor and Piper Cotham each had 12 points to lead Lyon while Jenna Coursey had 10 points. Maddie Perry scored eight points off the bench while Lilly Perry had 14 rebounds to go with seven points.
St. Mary got 13 points from Olivia Lorch and 12 from Mason Clements.
Lyon’s girls have won five straight games from St. Mary going back over the last decade.
