A pinch-hit triple in the top of the 7th from freshman Isabella Feldpausch drove in the only run of the game as Apollo picked up a 1-0 preseason scrimmage win over the Lyon County Lady Lyon Saturday at Lee S. Jones Park.
The game had been dominated by pitchers to that point as two pitchers for each team combined to allow just 8 hits in the game before Feldpausch’s hit.
Senior Lilly Perry and 7th grader Ava Prow both had solid efforts for the Lady Lyons. Perry went four innings and gave up just one hit, while striking out four and walking two. Prow went three innings in the circle, giving up one run on three hits, striking out four while walking none.
Five different batters had one hit each for the Lady Lyons during the varsity scrimmate. Those hits were from Lilly Perry, Jenna Coursey, Ava Prow, Brenna Breitrick, and Emma Brasher.
