Athletic teams across the area are not just exceptional on the court or on the field. Many of these outstanding young people involved in high school sports are also involved in many different ways in giving back to their school community and their community and are standing out in the classroom.
Those are the teams that are at the top of the list, or an ‘A-Team’ so to say. In this case, the Chick-fil-A ‘A-Team’. Teams that exhibit great core values like accountability, growth, respect to others, quality, and service.
Such is the case with the girls basketball team at Crittenden County High School. The Lady Rockets, who finished this year as the runner-up in the 2nd Region tournament, and as a semifinalist in the All A Classic state tournament, recently took part in the Read Across America Week at Crittenden County Elementary School.

Launched in 1998 by the National Education Association, Read Across America is the nation’s largest celebration of reading. The program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone.
Their commitment to the younger students in Crittenden County, as well as their exceptional performance on the court this season, are the things that make the Lady Rockets a great example of a Chick-fil-A ‘A-Team.’
