
After battling to a one-run win over Hopkinsville Monday night, the Lyon County Lyons took care of things a bit quicker on Tuesday. The Lyons got a combined no-hitter from Brady Belt and John Bingham and rolled to a 12-0 five-inning district win at Trigg County.
Belt got the start and went three innings, striking out five and walking three. Bingham finished up the game, going two innings, striking out four, and walking none.
The Lyon County offense was ready to roll from the first pitch. The Lyons scored two in the first, two in the second, and then blew the game open with 6 runs in the top of the third. Lyon County added two more runs in the top half of the fifth.
Peyton Williams had a big game for Lyon County (2-0), going 3-3 with a two-run homer, two doubles, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Korben Lucas was 3-4 with a double, a triple, and four RBIs. Eli Baker finished his night 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Chase Hampton was tagged with the loss for Trigg County (0-1).
