A night after opening the season with a mercy-rule win over Fort Campbell, the Christian County Colonels were on the other end of a shortened game on Tuesday in a 10-0 loss to hosts McCracken County.

The Mustangs wasted no time getting started, opening the bottom of the first with three straight hits to lead 2-0.  A Colonel error allowed the third run to cross in the third inning, and McCracken led 4-0 on Braden Casebier’s RBI double in the fourth.

Kendrick Dunning’s RBI triple highlighted McCracken’s three-run fifth, and an inning later Dunning capped a 3/3 five-RBI night with a three-run home run to end the game.

Gage Montes took the loss on the mound for the Colonels, allowing two runs on three hits with no walks and three strikeouts over two frames.  Sebastian Dazey worked two innings in relief, surrendering two runs, one earned, on two hits with a walk and four Ks.  Aiden Lewis came on for the sixth and gave up six runs, five earned, on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Lane Grace and Noah Godwin were each 2/3 with an RBI for McCracken.  Godwin also picked up the win with four scoreless innings with a walk and six strikeouts.

Christian County will host Warren East on Friday.  The last meeting between the teams was a 3-2 Colonel win back in 2022.
