Two Bowling Green pitchers combined to throw a two-hitter as the Lady Purples picked up a 10-0 six-inning win Friday night over the visiting Hopkins County Central Lady Storm.
Hadley Morrison gave up two hits in five innings of work while Ansley Turner threw a hitless sixth inning for the Lady Purples, who improved to 2-1 on the season with the win.
Bowling Green scored two runs in the third and then blew the game open with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Lady Purples then ended the contest with a run in the sixth inning.
The Lady Storm (0-3) got a triple from Julia Harris and a single from Cadence Allen.
Emily Ballard went 4 ⅓ innings in the circle and was charged with the loss for Hopkins County Central. Layla Sorrells pitched 1 ⅓ innings in relief.
