Todd County Central sophomore Raylee Moore made history on Saturday at the KHSAA Region 1 Archery Tournament.

She shot a 284 for the Lady Rebels and finished in fifth place, nabbing the second of three qualifying spots for next month’s state tournament. She is the first Todd Central archer to qualify for the KHSAA state tourney.

Moore was four points behind the region winner, DixiAnne Nurrenbern of Henderson County.

Her score was also a personal best by six points. Moore shot a 275 at last week’s NASP State Tournament in Louisville to finish in 245th place out of 1,551 shooters.

Annabella Tobar shot a 273 to finish in 21st place with Bristol McGhee’s score of 273 good for 24th place.

Grace Tabor (271) finished in 30th place followed by Lizzie Langley (270) in 33rd place; Abby Greenfield (268) in 38th place; Taylor Cox (265) in 45th place; Kathryn Ballard (265) in 47th place; Peyton Collins (262) in 53rd place; Mollie Skipworth (244) in 101st place; Madi Glenn (241) 103rd place; and Leyera Denton (222) in 109th place.

Unlike NASP tournaments where the top 12 scores of both and girls go toward a team score, the KHSAA takes the top seven scores of each gender to determine the boys’ and girls’ team and individual champion.

The KHSAA State Archery Tournament will be on April 17 in Lexington.
