Balanced Offense Carries Lady Lyons to Second Win

Three Lyon County Lady Lyons had multiple hits to pace them to a 10-2 win over Calloway County on Monday.

Courtney Collins had four hits and drove in two as Lyon County built a 5-0 lead after two innings.

Collins singled and scored on a Lilly Perry sac fly in the first inning and drove in another as part of a four-run second inning. Brenna Breitrick laced an RBI triple and scored on Sloan Cotham’s infield single.

Calloway’s Emerson Herndon got a run back with a leadoff home run in the third.

Collins answered with a leadoff double in the fourth inning and scored on a Perry sacrifice.

Lyon County tacked on four runs in the fifth inning with Perry and Jenna Coursey producing run-scoring hits.

Perry finished with three RBI at the plate and allowed four hits in the circle, striking out five with just one earned run.

Coursey and Ava Prow also had a pair of hits for Lyon County (2-2), who will visit Paducah Tilghman on Tuesday.

Herndon had two of Calloway County’s four hits. The Lady Lakers (0-8) will host Christian County on Thursday.
