Lady Colonels Roll Past Calloway 12-1

Christian County handed hosts Calloway County its ninth straight defeat to start the season, while the Lady Colonels improved to 4-2 with an abbreviated 12-1 victory on Thursday.

An eight-run first inning put the game out of reach early on, with two RBI singles by Chloe Almy and a three-run double by Avery Adcock doing the damage.

Christian County’s Alyssa Petterson allowed Calloway’s only run on a tag up in the bottom of the first.  Petterson held the Lady Lakers to only two hits with three strikeouts and a pair of walks.

Adcock finished 4/4 with four RBI, Almy had two hits and drove in two runs, and Jazzy Tejada also collected two hits.

Jaylee McLeod took the loss for the Lady Lakers, allowing 10 earned runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Christian County will hit the road on Friday for a matchup with Madisonville-North Hopkins before squaring off with Livingston Central on Monday.
