Sadie Kirk served up 18 strikeouts and the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons delivered four home runs, including a pair by Mackenzie Stoltz, to knock off visiting Webster County 8-2 on Thursday.

Maggie Killough smacked a three-run bomb in the bottom of the first, and the Lady Maroons led 4-0 after a run on an error in the third.

The Lady Trojans got runs back in the fourth and fifth on two steals of home, but that would be all the offense Kirk would allow.  She scattered four hits over seven innings with a walk to earn her sixth win in the circle.

Stoltz and Sydney Skeen went deep back-to-back to lead off the bottom of the fifth, and Stoltz crushed her second solo shot of the night in the sixth.

Chloe Papineua suffered the loss, allowing eight runs, five earned, on 10 hits while striking out 10.  The Lady Trojans slipped to 6-10 ahead of a visit from Dawson Springs on Friday.

Madisonville improved to 11-7 behind Stoltz’s three-hit, two-RBI night, and Nevaeh Lindle finished 3/3 at the plate.

The Lady Maroons will be on the road on Friday to face the hosts in the Marshall County Slugfest.
