Caldwell’s Girls Blanked by McCracken at Slugfest

Caldwell County’s girls were held to just four base hits Friday night in a 4-0 setback to McCracken County in action at the Marshall County Slugfest at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville.

The Lady Mustangs scored once in each of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to improve to 19-5.

Addison Dudley (6-2) struck out 10 and walked two in a complete-game shutout.

Kinley Dowdy was 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Lady Mustangs. Savannah McDowell went 2-for-3 and had an RBI.

Caldwell’s best inning offensively came in the bottom of the sixth when Daelen Kizzee singled, Harper Holeman doubled and Adley Lewis singled. However, a runner was picked off first and the Lady Tigers failed to score.

Holeman finished 2-for-3 at the plate for Caldwell.

Alexis Wood suffered the pitching loss for the Lady Tigers, but allowed just two earned runs on eight hits without a walk.

Caldwell (7-6) will play two more gmaes in the Slugfest on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers will take on Calloway County at 11 a.m. and Louisville Mercy at 1 p.m.
