
After getting 3-inning mercy-ruled by University Heights Academy just 13 days ago, the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons traveled to the Lady Blazers’ home field and got a measure of revenge Monday evening. The Lady Falcons took advantage of the Lady Blazers’ struggles in the circle and in the field to cruise to a 13-3 5-inning win.
UHA was charged with three errors and two Lady Blazers pitchers combined to hand out four walks and six hit batters. UHA also had six wild pitches in the contest.
Fort Campbell plated five runs in the top of the second and then blew the game open with five more runs in the top of the third. The lead grew to 12-0 as the Lady Falcons added two runs in the top of the fourth.
Ryleigh Watry, Hailey Herron, and Jordan Herring had two hits each to lead Fort Campbell. Baylee Backes drove in three runs and Emma Kolmerton drove in a pair.
For the Lady Blazers, Olivia Oakley was 2-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
Hailey Herron got the win in the circle for Fort Campbell. She went all five innings, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out six and walking one.
