Even though it was a district doubleheader, Monday night was still a short night for the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons. Madisonville got a pair of three-inning no-hitters as they rolled past Dawson Springs 15-0 and 17-0 on the Lady Maroons’ home field.
In the opening game, the Lady Maroons needed just seven hits to score 10 runs in the first inning and 5 in the second to get the win. Mackenzie Stoltz had another big night at the plate, going 2-3 with a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Sadie Kirk was 2-3 with 2 RBIs and three runs scored.
Kirk pitched three hitless innings and struck out nine in picking up the win.
The second game was more of the same. With the Lady Maroons playing as the home team, they used 12 hits to score 10 runs in the first, five in the second, and two more in the top of the third to take a 17-0 win.
Mackenzie Stoltz heated up even more from her performance in the first game. She went 3-3 with a home run, two triples, 6 RBIs, and two runs scored. Sydney Skeen and Maggie Killough added two hits each for Madisonville.
In the circle, Mackenzie Stoltz went three innings, struck out 8, and walked none.
With the two wins, the Lady Maroons have now won 9 straight games.
