
Todd County Central saw its losing streak reach four games on Monday with a 13-0 five-inning loss to visiting 13th-District foes Franklin-Simpson.
Christopher Harris’ single in the bottom of the fourth was the only hit the Rebels recorded against Franklin-Simpson’s Boy Blanckenberg. Blanckenberg evened his record at 4-4, walking one with five strikeouts over five frames.
Layne Alford’s RBI triple highlighted Franklin-Simpson’s four-run first, and Alford was at it again in the second with a two-run home run to make it 7-0.
Brady Delk doubled in a run to get the Wildcats going in the top of the fifth before runs came in on three consecutive Rebel errors to finish off the scoring.
Alford finished with two hits and three RBI, Delk was 2/3 with a run driven in, and Jaxon Gass had a hit and two RBI.
Franklin-Simpson improved to 15-10 and evened its district mark at 1-1. The teams will do it all again in Franklin on Tuesday.
Conner Wheeler took the loss as the Rebels slipped to 8-7 and remained winless in district play. Wheeler allowed seven runs, four earned, on four hits with five walks and a strikeout.
