Lady Colonels Rally Past Crittenden 7-5

Despite being outhit by hosts Crittenden County on Monday, the Christian County Lady Colonels pushed five runs across the final three innings to pull out a 7-5 victory over the Lady Rockets.

Crittenden County scored twice in each of its first two at-bats thanks to an RBI single by Elle McDaniel and Anna Boone’s two-run triple for a 4-1 advantage.

Avery Adcock led off the Christian County third to trim the margin to two runs, but the Lady Rockets restored the three-run cushion on Boone’s RBI single in the bottom of the fourth.

Alondra Rodriquez smacked a two-run home run to pull the Lady Colonels within a run, and they took the lead for good in the sixth on Chloe Almy’s RBI single and a run on a Lady Rocket error for a 7-5 advantage.

Alyssa Petterson earned the win in the circle for Christian County, allowing an earned run on four hits with a pair of strikeouts over four and two-thirds innings.  Jordan Turner started for the Lady Colonels, exiting after two frames and four earned runs on six hits with a strikeout.

Rodriquez had two hits and drove in two runs, and Adcock and Almy hit safely twice with an RBI for Christian County.

Brodi Rich took the loss for the Lady Rockets, giving up seven runs, five earned, on eight hits with three walks and 10 strikeouts over seven innings.  Anna Boone had three hits and drove in three runs, and Elliot Evans hit safely twice.

Christian County improved to 15-12 ahead of a visit from Murray High on Tuesday.

Crittenden County slipped to 8-12 with Union County set to visit on Tuesday.
