Trigg County picked up its third win in four outings and second straight shutout with a 5-0 victory over hosts Livingston Central on Tuesday.  Chase Hampton did it at the plate and on the mound for the Wildcats, scattering three hits for a complete-game win and smacking a two-run home run in the top of the fifth.

A Livingston error allowed the Wildcats to take the lead in the top of the first, but they had to wait until the fifth to find some breathing room.  Aidon Butts drove in a pair of runs with a single before Hampton cleared the right field fence to cap the scoring in style.

Hampton earned his second win of the season, striking out 11 and issuing a single walk over seven innings.  He also had two hits and two RBI, followed by Butts, Aaden Allen, Haydon Reynolds, and James Garnett with a hit each.

Jackson Duncan took the loss for the Cardinals, surrendering five runs, four earned, on five hits with four walks and seven strikeouts over five frames.  Livingston Central slipped to 8-16 and remained winless in district play.

Trigg improved to 9-8 and will be looking for the season sweep when Livingston Central visits on Thursday.
