A former Marshall County baseball standout had been recognized by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for his performance on the baseball field this season. The league announced Thursday that Evan Oakley, who plays for Kentucky Wesleyan, had been named the G-Mac’s ‘Pitcher of the Year.’
Through Wednesday’s G-MAC conference tournament game against Walsh, Oakley, a junior at KWC, was 8-3 with an ERA of 2.24. He has 95 strikeouts and 25 walks for the season.
For his career at KWC, Oakley is 17-14 with an ERA of 3.43.
Oakley was also named to the G-MAC 1st Team All-Conference.
