The weather turned out to be the big winner Monday evening as the Fort Campbell Falcons hosted the University Heights Academy Blazers in a key 8th District matchup on post. Heavy rain in the Fort Campbell area led to the game being suspended with two outs in the top of the third with the Blazers holding a 1-0 lead.
UHA had taken the lead with a run in the top of the first inning when Hayden Hunt reached base on a Falcon error and then later scored on a sac fly to make it 1-0.
Michael Anderson held the Blazers scoreless over the next inning and two-thirds before the rain arrived.
Thomas Hallmark got the start on the mound for the Blazers and had pitched two perfect innings before the monsoon arrived.
Cadence Gibson, Jaiden Miles, and Bryson Turner had one hit each for the Blazers in the early going.
UHA is slated to travel across town to Heritage Christian Tuesday.
Fort Campbell is scheduled to go on the road to Russellville.
