Not exactly the way the Christian County Colonels had planned to celebrate Senior Night Tuesday evening. The Trigg County Wildcats crashed the Colonels celebration by getting a combined three-hitter from pitchers Grayson McKee and Chase Hampton as the Wildcats took a 6-1 win over Christian County on the Colonels’ home field.

The win was the first for Trigg County over Christian County since May 2019 and just the second since March 2015.

Christian County did not help its cause any in the field as the Colonels were charged with six errors in the game which in turn allowed the Wildcats to score five unearned runs.

The Wildcats took the lead for good on an Aidon Butts double in the top of the third that put Trigg up 2-0. Trigg then took advantage of three Colonel errors in the top of the fifth to run the lead out to 5-0.

Sebastian Dazey scored on a Trigg error in the bottom of the inning to trim the lead to 5-1 but the Wildcats got the run back in the top of the 6th with an RBI double from Aaden Allen to end the scoring at 6-1.

Aidon Butts went 1-3 for Trigg County with a double, 3 RBIs, and a run scored. Chase Hampton finished 1-4 with 2 RBIs.

Sebastian Dazey, Blake Boehman, and Jonathan Lewis had one hit each for the Colonels.

Grayson McKee got the win for the Wildcats, going four innings on the mound and giving up no runs on two hits, striking out three and walking four.
